PRIVATE RETREATS
| Personal Retreats at the
Voice of the Turtle The
next time you plan a personal retreat, consider coming to the Voice of
the Turtle Retreat Center near Silver City, New Mexico. Experience the
natural beauty and healing qualities of this land. The wilderness has
long been a magnet for spiritual seekers desiring deep retreat and
renewal in the silence and peace of nature. The Voice of the
Turtle
Retreat Center in the mountains of New Mexico has the added blessings
of year-round Bear Creek and its lush riparian habitat, hillsides and
mesas, walking trails, and high cliff vistas. This land
invites all
who visit to take time for quiet meditation and
contemplation.
Retreat Guidance Always
consult with your initiator or guide before making a personal retreat;
they are not for everyone. With permission from the guide,
you may
avail yourself of retreat guidance from Sheikha Azima Lila
Forest.
Such guidance may include work on dreams and/or check-in on progress
during the retreat.
Land and FacilitiesFacilities
for personal retreat at the Voice of the Turtle are
simple. There is
the Adobe of the Message, a one-room cottage; one may also choose to
bring a tent or vehicle in which to stay. Sanitary
and hygiene
facilities include pleasant outhouses and indoor hot showers.
There
are 1500 acres with three miles of Bear Creek, huge shady cottonwoods
and sycamores, several springs, wading areas, pinon and juniper trees,
and panoramic views from the mesas. Aside from the homestead
and
outbuildings, this site is undeveloped. Think being away from
it all.
Think simple and basic. Think natural rhythms – birds at
sunrise,
afternoons by the creek, sunset beauty, and lots of stars and moonlight.
Food ServiceYou
can choose to bring your food and cook it yourself, or we can serve
your meals in accordance with your food preferences. Meals
can be
vegan or vegetarian.
Rates Current
rates range from $15 - $75 per person per night, depending on food
options chosen. For more details, contact Azima at azima@zianet.com
