Another month about weather? Pretty much.
It's a 'land based community' after all.

Here's the footbridge.

Krishna Paul has been working on the maqbara meditation hut foundation, getting ready for the building camp (in which there are still some spaces.)

By camp time it'll be a bit more convenient to get to the work site.

But look at the spring color burning along the flood plain. Spring!

In town at Khankah Jamila Nur Basira has seedlings coming up.

and Azimat has a story for the Pisces birthday party about how an expensive lost cake was replaced by a free half cake, just in time.

Nooradin and Frances did their bit for the annual Silver City Chocolate Fantasia.

And here's Wren explaining lunar eclipse at one breakfast during the Mureeds' Retreat.  It's only an eclipse when the vegetable spread is directly between the water bottle and the apple.

The annual Mureeds' Retreat, by the way, is open to any mureed who is somehow connected to the SSC -- or would like to be.  It happens around Moineddin's urs, Feb 27.

On Valentine's Day
Oh Valentine,
Dream of Jah,
figment of God's
Divine imagination.
My Valentine,
your beauty is a mirror
reflecting Allah's
magnanimous perfection.
Be Valentine
Elohim's Song, Ram incarnate
for a creator you surely are.
Every atom
of your glorious being
has always existed will always exist,
Beautiful wheel
infinite evolution.

.........

Sunshine and snow

Sunshines rainbows
jitterbug
across the lakes
dotting my corrugated metal roof.
The ocean is here
in this desert
My self is divine
for which I esteem.
My self is 80% water
May the sun's light inspire a happy dance today.

Living in the city, or in the town, I monitor the weather, check the forecast, surf to NOAA.gov.  Is the weather going to get in my way? Will it pour on my parade? Ice my plans?

On the land I live the weather, just like all the other aggregations of elements. Or, that's my plan.  I do have an umbrella, and a roof.  But out here there's opportunity for more being, less doing.  Less complaining.  More praise.

Alhamdulillah.

With love,
Hayra Nur

p.s. You don't have to wait for a camp to spend time on the land.  We have some simple accommodations for visits and solo retreats.
