Late blossom, early apples!

And other growing, living things ...

What you see here, looking very closely, is guerrila pruning.   The outside shower door was getting overgrown

Michael came for a couple of days, to bring lumber for the dining ramada (formerly-known-as-covered-eating-area) and go around the land with Rashad to choose poles.
He cut and trimmed all they'll need, mostly from clumps of juniper with several trunks together.

There were some more amazing rains -- here seen from inside Hayra Nur's place.

The Building Green Together camp was done in shifts, you might say.  By the beginning Krishna Paul and his crew -- Ishstar, Brooke, Gary, and you know who you are -- had the foundation and decking done, as well as the roof framed and papered.  Then Darren arrived, with Delia, to manage the next stage -- straw bale walls, windows and doors ...

Patty and Brook on transition day.

Krishna's big yellow truck can get across the creek and flood plain, to the bottom of the maqbara path.

From there it's uphill and human-powered.

Delia shapes some bales.

Darren and Delia do windows!

Rashad, Delia, Kyra and Darren get ready for Susanne's pie.

The end of the camp was supposed to be right before Silver City's Blues Festival.  We did have a presence -- and an All Community Meeting -- on Saturday.  Here are Nooradin and Jamila right behind the sound board.  But the building kept right on going until Monday morning,

when there was another change of crew.  Krishna Paul and Patty -- seen here from up and across the creek -- wrapped the building in chicken wire, then protective plastic sheeting,  for the next step: plastering.  They also applied a metal roof

with an overhang for shade.

It all depends on your viewpoint?  Here somebody peers into Hayra Nur's house from the construction pile of earth nearby.

And here are Azima's house and part of Hayra Nur's from right near Sasha's,

To hear (if not exactly see because of low light) a recent performance of
the Tin Cup Quartet's rendition of the following lyrics

Put some money in the cup and raise the roof
Don’t be shy. Don’t be reluctant, nor aloof.
If you want to eat lasagna
without weather gettin’ on ya
Put some money in the cup and raise the roof.

Put some money in the cup and raise the roof
Don’t be shy. Don’t be reluctant, nor aloof.
Keep the rain off your tostada
with a beautiful ramada.
Put some money in the cup and raise the roof.

Put some money in the cup and raise the roof
Don’t be shy. Don’t be reluctant, nor aloof.
Eat delicious meals at noon
with no fear of a monsoon
Put some money in the cup and raise the roof.

Put some money in the cup and raise the roof
Don’t be shy. Don’t be reluctant, nor aloof.
In the tree above the birds coo
as we feast on yummy tofu
Put some money in the cup and raise the roof.
